Bible of Beatz Opens the Book of Rhymez!

Middlesbrough raised Bible of Beatz makes an appearance at July's event VerseS at The Empire in Middlesbrough!

Bible of Beatz performed fantastically at The Empire, showcasing 6 of his latest songs. At the age of 18, Bible began writing music which he decided at the age of 23 to take on seriouly as a career. Last year bought him some success as he made it to the quarter finals of the Live & Unsigned Open Mic Competition as well as drawing the attension of two record labels who were to sign his song "Lifes Too Short".

Bible's song "Nothing To Lose" was also selected by local boxers Yazzi Harris, and Stewart Gibson as their opening song as they made their way to the ring at local boxing event 'Men of Steel' which took place in Aklam City Gardens in July earlier this year. Both fighters went on to win their fights.

Later on at the VerseS event, Bible stepped onto the stage to battle Hartlepool's lyricist Bam the Bastard in a good old fashioned Rap Battle.

The battle was extremely close with both rappers putting on a great performance with lots of clever hit lines. Unfortunately Bible lost the battle to Bam but with an every growing Artist profile, a repetoire of outstanding music and a performance like the one he had earlier that evening, one loss is nothing to worry about.

We as well as many of his fans are eagerly awaiting the release of his album "Were It All Begins".

Check out Bible of Beatz Performance at VerseS here!

    Also you can hear his Taster track "Nothing To Lose" below;

THE JAR FAMILY – THE INDUSTRIAL FOLK PIONEERS COME TO MIDDLESBROUGH

The North Easts fastest rising band headline Launch Night of Middlesbrough’s hottest, newest night

The list of acts they have supported read like a who’s who in music, however The Jar Family have worked hard for them position’s and it’s a matter of time before the headline slots come. Acts such as Alabama 3, The Charlatans, Babyshambles, Jake Bugg and Sunshine Underground amongst others have had faith and requested the support of The Jar Family. When you hear the ‘Industrial Folk’ ringing out and witness their stage presence it will become plain to see why they have had such prestigious support slots. Hartlepool’s homegrown troubadour’s next stop is Middlesbrough’s hottest, newest venue Mink Tattoo Coffee Bar on Corporation Road.

Sunday 26th August will see the launch night of brand new Middlesbrough music flagship night ‘Mint!’ Which is a new monthly show held at the beautiful new venue Mink. The night is designed to push forward the Teesside Music Scene. The audience can expect a premium show with the best up and coming acts from around the UK supplemented with the best of the local scene. To prove Mink’s genuine “Boro” heritage, the bar is actually made from bricks acquired from the council estates on what used to be Union Street.

It made perfect sense to the Joint Effort team that The Jar Family would headline the launch night of Mint! The Jar Family are a 7 piece band from the north east of England which includes five singer/songwriters/guitarists of various styles who collectively describe their sound as 'Industrial Folk'. Also in the band is Keith Wilkinson (Formerly of Squeeze & The Jools Holland Big Band) on bass and Kez Edwards on Percussion/Cajon. Their heartfelt inspiring tunes have people flocking to see them gig most notably 200 people in Doctor Browns, a sold out homecoming gig with 500+ at Hartlepool Town Hall and 60+ travelling all the way to London to watch them play their first London date. They are not to be missed as they rise through the ranks.

Support comes from North East Bluegrass Legends The Bluebuds who are bringing their homegrown, organic sound to the Mint! Stage. After playing numerous festivals such as The Willowman Festival and Stockton Weekender it’s now Middlesbrough’s turn to sample some of them sweet raw tunes. Also playing is exciting new Teesside Band The Smiles who have received good response for their debut single “Sail On” which received airplay from Tom Hingley of The Inspiral Carpets. And as always The Magnificent Mint! Houseband will also be playing an electric set. Starting with Joint Effort Co-Pilot Rikki Doolan and other local musicians, who will join as the nights go on. Expect music that will get you ready, music to prepare you for what’s in store, music that is what it is Mint!

Tickets are only priced at £5 and physical tickets can be acquired from Mink Tattoo Coffee Bar or any Joint Effort event (Such as 4PLAY @ Doc Browns on a Thursday). Online tickets can be gained at www.wegottickets.com (Search The Jar Family). Tickets can be bought on the door at £7. However there are very limited available. Upon publishing tickets are moving faster than imagined. But with one of the fastest rising bands in the UK at present playing at one of the freshest venues then it’s understandable.

BIGScene Tv Frontline News - TIGGA & BIZZ

BIGscene Tv launches another Frontline video from Durham City Cliques very own Bizzman & Tigga!

Bizzman and Tigga, both part of Durham's City Clique featured on our latest Frontline episode. The back to back performance from two of Durhams most desired mc's was a great set to film and BIGscene Tv has high hopes that the episode will gain massive exposure.

City Clique is a group of mcs and producers from the North East's Grime & Hiphop scene, who have come together high quality songs that have the whole of the North East talking.

Bizzman, one of City Cliques founders, has been quoted to have an "Interesting" and "Unique" style of mcing being a mix of grime and "Fun". Tigga, who has released songs such as 'Long Time Coming'* which features Bizzman, was a great new addition to our network having not performed on a Frontline before. If you haven't already seen Bizzman's first Frontline then where have you been?! Here it is, check it out!

    VerseS Round 2 Hits BIG!

VerseS round 2 a bigger hit than Chisora took from David Haye !

    Hauntin in Action
The live performances from some of the North East's finest as well as some of its most followed up and coming acts sent the crowd into a frenzy. VerseS, which took place at  Empire Middlesbrough's Lounge Room, could not have been more packed with people having to listen to some of the performances from outside the door!

A big hit for the crowd was latest up and coming hardcore Boro fan Hauntin, with his high energy performance which basically spilled fans onto the front of the stage. Hauntin was accompanied by his travelling ghost army including Middlesbrough football club's ultras group Red Faction who, along with Hauntin and their football chants between songs, created an inspiring ambiance.

    VerseS host and organiser BLUNT!
Another great performance was from VerseS host and organiser BLUNT! who also battled against Danny Life later that evening. His raw Hip hop flows and passion was in harmony with the crowd who all attended in support of the North East hip hop scene.

As if the energy of these acts wasn't enough... the response for the rap battles that took place later that evening was one word... epic.

The battle lineups were varied, with a mix of experienced 'veterans' Rhymeotaur, Mayan Ransom, Danny Life as well as a few fresh starters including Bible of Beatz and Bam the Bastard.

It seemed the majority of the North East hip hop following attended the event, and some known faces were spotted amidst the crowd including Middlesbrough's rap duos Leddie & Smoggy, and Twisted Dialect. It's clear to see that an event like this is what the North East needs to bring the Hip Hop scene together. Many, including us here at BIGscene Tv, just cant wait for Round 3 !

BIGScene Tv is a proud sponsor of VerseS and has exclusive coverage of the event. Look out for the footage release soon!

Leddie & Smoggy Get Tagged In.

Its not like us at BIGscene.TV to be directing you to another company's videos but we can't help but big up the MC's from our hometown when they do something BIG! Namely Leddie & Smoggy featuring on RapperTag UK.

If you're unfamiliar with 'RapperTag' its basically freeverses spat with, or without, a beat and at the end of each one the MC 'tags' the next rapper in.  Leddie was tagged in by UK Hip Hop heavyweight Genesis Elijah, and she went on to tag in her partner in rhyme - Smoggy.  Both, as always, dropped some thought provoking bars.  So here they are....

    **NEW SHOW** BIG SCENE ACAPELLA

Following the success of the FRONTLINE series the staff at BIG SCENE decided we wanted another format to showcase talented rappers.  Whilst filming Frontlines numerous MC's had requested to spit Acapella, without a beat!  We took that on board and decided to run a new format parallel to FRONTLINE.....ACAPELLA.  This really gives the MC chance to show their character and flow freely without the constriction of a certain genre or timing.

Check out the VERY FIRST ACAPELLA from Teesside's tyrannical two-some 'BIG ROB AND BLUNT!'

VIDEO SPECIAL - INTERVIEW WITH SNEAKBO

South London Rapper Sneakbo was up in 'the Boro' a while back performing at Urban night 'Deuces'.  As we do, BIGscene.TV got an exclusive interview with the JetSki Wave MC and who better to ask the questions than the lovely Jamilah.  The Brixton bad boy answered questions about his latest release,  the inspiration behind his bashment sounds and being friends with Drake. Watch the interview below and look out for more exclusive interviews from BIGscene.TV in the near future!

    **NEW ON THE FRONTLINE**

June has been a great month for BIGscene.TV.  Not only have we had loads of great new content for you but we also skipped past the 50,000 view mark.  The YouTube channel is going strong with over 100 subscribers and its all because of the great artists and their fans (and we can't forget the haters too!)

We have had artists from all over the country asking to feature on BIG scene, so much so that we are struggling to keep up with the demand.  Needless to say we are busy expanding and strengthening the team and will be getting round to featuring everyone in good time!  Get in touch via Twitter @bigscene.tv or Facebook if you wish to be part of the team or if you wish to feature on the channel.

    NEW NORTH EAST VIDS

The past month has seen some great new vids come from the North East rap scene.  Most recently T.3.C released their Jamie Alderson directed video 'Here We Go Again'.  The track has some summer vibes and features the vocals of newcomer BeBe.  Check it out here....

BrainFeeders MC Conscript also released a solo video this month, again directed by Jamie Alderson, Spare Thoughts is an insight into Conscripts mind.  With video cameos from Rex Regis and JMan, its a simple but effective vid that fits the track nicely.  Watch it here ....

Last up we have a new Suus vid. Directed by Nick Light.  He remix Drake's Lord Knows and we prefer it to the original! Its may have been over-remixed but with meaningful, hard hitting lines we think this video/track was a great shout ......
