On Saturday July 14th
The Bunker will launch Shake It Up 2012, uncovering the best new urban & dance
acts in the North East.
In association with
Independent and Generator, The Bunker will run the first ever event of it's
kind in Sunderland to find the Shake It Up act of 2012. This is the widest the
net has been cast for a showcase of it's kind with all Producers, DJ's, MCs and
Vocalists encouraged to apply.
On Saturday July 14th,
Independent will host the launch of this fantastically fresh showcase event of
Dance & Urban music in the North East. Regional press will be invited to
the launch alongside those interested in applying as well as lovers of the
growing scene in the North East. They will be treated to some top live
performances from high profile DJ's, Producers and Vocalists from across the
North East. Possible entrants will be introduced to Shake It Up 2012's panel,
made up of those at the top of their game in the region as well as having the
opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with leading figures in their
field. All relevant information on how to enter will also be available on the
night.
Local DJ and producer KT Mosebi who has recently worked in the Bunker studios
alongside BunkerDance producers to record his material, said of the event: 'I'm
really excited to get down to the launch night in July and see what Shake It Up
2012 is all about. From what I have heard so far it sounds like a brilliant
opportunity for acts like myself to showcase our talents and get some feedback
from people in the scene who we really respect. I will definitely be entering,
this is a great chance to get my music heard'.
Shake It Up 2012 aims
to find the best emerging talent from entrants who apply via an exclusive
Soundcloud page which will go live online in the weeks following the launch. A
number of artists who are selected by the panel will all feature on a
compilation CD and perform together at the main live event later in the
year. The select panel of local experts
from the dance and urban music scene will then select one artist who will have
the fantastic opportunity to release a single via Bunkeruk records along with a
publishing and full PR package.

2012 is to discover the next bright talent in this thriving scene and then give
