LaskaSak Launch Party

Here at BIGscene.tv its not just music that we like to cover.  The North East is home to some excellent fashion designers.  One of these is Ladi Kazeem, founder and head designer of street wear brand LaskaSak.  He officially launched the  new range at The Lobby, Middlesbrough on the 27th April.

The swanky arrangement featured models parading in the LS tees, vests and sweatshirts, a champagne reception and live performances.  BIGscene.tv was granted exclusive access to the event, which included interviews with the models and Ladi himself.

Drake, Sneakbo and New Interview

April has been a great month for live shows in the North East.  As most people will be aware Drake was in Newcastle and everyone who went reported that he put on a great show.  Further down the road in Middlesbrough, at a slightly smaller event, an artist with close connections to Drake was putting on his own show.

The artist was Sneakbo - credited as influencing some of Drakes latest tracks the South London MC came and performed a 15 minute set at Middlesbrough's favourite Urban night.  BIGscene.tv got an exclusive interview with Mr Jetski Wave where he talks about upcoming work and what it was like supporting Drake.  The interview will be uploaded very soon, but until then we have some footage from the night itself.

Ooh You BIG Tease!

BIGscene.tv were recently featured in Tease Magazine.  It might sound like a soft porn mag but Tease is the Teesside University students monthly magazine.  With all of the Big Scene team being former Teesside University students the journos at Tease decided to write an article about what we are doing!  Not only does this article give you an insight into what it is we do at BIGscene.tv it also provides you with some contact details.  So if anyone has any show ideas, upcoming events they want covering, or just want to feature on the Frontline then get in touch.  Its nice to be recognised by the institution that schooled us and for anyone about to go off to University, Teesside is a great one!

NEW Twisted Dialect - Development

This is some BRAND NEW SHIZZ. Development by Twisted Dialect is 2 n a 'alf minutes of Jister and Blitz ripping up a Cypriot Vibes beat.  This is a taste of what we would have been treated to at Middlesbrough Empire, where they were set to support Wiley, until he cancelled his tour (what an idiot).

NEW Leddie N Smoggy

Middlesbrough duo Leddie N Smoggy teamed up with Rochdale Rapper Yosh for the remix of "Aint No Use".  The track features a soulful beat provided by Skrilla and is definitely not lacking in meaningful content.  This ones been out a little while now and has over 1000 YouTube views in under a month!  If you havent yet heard it give it a listen here

Rex Regis - Faithful

NEW SUUS

A couple of days ago Suus dropped Jack Beatz Vol. 2: Lights Down, Music Up.  The battle MC, that may be best known for his Don't Flop clashes, gives us 18 tracks full of bars over familiar beats.  The project features a multitude of different flavours ensuring we are treated to some classical Hip Hop as well as some double time flows!

Back with a STOMP !

This year STOMP returns with their third annual Talent Show!

Singers, Dancers, Mc's & DJ's between the ages of 13 and 19 come together to showcase their talents where the crowd choose the winner. The event, run by All In project, is being held at The Hub in Teesside Universities Students Union on Saturday 14th April 2012 and will be held 5pm till 9:30pm.

Tickets cost £2 which gets you access to the event and the chance to watch a live performance from special guest Kaydon (http://www.youtube.com/KaydonOfficial) a local artist said to be growing rapidly in popularity.
